Started on my 72'.
Got the truck in the body shop for a new coat of paint. The truck was actually very straight, only one spot on the drivers side bed that you see we had to do some bondo work to repair a previous hack job done years ago. Water had gotten behind it and had some rust that had to be addressed. This is just going to a driver so I opted to just pull the dent out better and skim the bondo to make it smooth. It had one door ding on the passenger door which was an easy fix and some slight repair to the top lip of the tailgate from usual wear of a 30+ year old truck. Here are a couple pics I took the other night. Should be able to get it primered this week and be able to do a final block and then shoot on the shiny stuff. Going back with met. silver with a hint of blue pearl that will just be noticable in direct sunlight just to set it off a little.
Before pic, you can see where someone rattle canned the bottom of the quarters and a copuple spots on the fenders with what appears to be a chrome paint. Now a few how it sits |

Re: Started on my 72'.
The bike is a 4 stroke, gave up the ring-a-dings a few years back. I only ride woods now so I like these better.
Been working on getting the truck ready for paint. Finally got all the body work done and got it in primer last night. Someone frenched an antenna in the upper cab corner which I had a patch panel made and deleted that all together. We will be doing the final block and wet sanding tonight and it will be getting painted Saturday morning. I should be geting it back Monday so I can finally put it back together and be able to show it off for the family at Christmas. Here is my buddy Rick, he is the one painting it.

I'm a ways off before I start painting, but I'll be counting on my buddy Nick to do the painting when the time comes. Looking good.

Re: Started on my 72'.
Got the truck back Monday night, brought it to work yesterday and got it put back together after i got off. The paint turned out great, slick as can be. The color we mixed up was half fine metallic flake and half medium metallic flake. We threw in a touch of red pearl that is very subtle, you can just barely see it in the sun if you look at it just right. I got all my new emblems ordered so when they come in i am done with the body for now. Future plans this spring are lower it 3"/4" and put 20" KMC Nova wheels on it. 20x10 in the rear and 20x8.5 in the front. They just started making these in 5x5 bolt pattern and will be out in january. I alos plan on putting a Comp Cam Mutha Thumper in it as well. This 268H just doesn't give it enough thump for me. I will be doing the machined with black pockets version like this car. Here is a pic of the wheels and some of the truck.

Re: Started on my 72'.
Very nice. That paint will work well with those new Nova rims.

Re: Started on my 72'.
Got the rest of the interior back in and decided to paint the centers of the wheels black since they were oxidized pretty bad and wouldn't shine back up like the lips did.
