Cool for you. I know you have wanted to bag that thing for a while. That Z scares me. It really looks like it needs some boxing, gusseting, something to strengthen that. But cool for you. And good deal too.

and they need to add some angular braces top and bottom so it isn't a 90* break.

Geometry > brute force

X2 the rear looks great but I'd still take a piece of plate steel and box in the inside of the front of it at all 4 cuts.

Re: Its on its way!!

Finally got home today to find that when its layed out the back dont lay frame, but its not that big of deal, ill figure out how it will lay the bedsides on the ground if i have to make the bottoms longer by cutting and welding in more pieces. it lays frame under the cab completly, but the cab isnt on the ground...yet. im taking the biscuits out from the cab mounts so it will, i took the back 2 out tonight and it lowered it 2 or so inches and it will lay just fine. ill try to put the front clip on it tomorrow after i get out of school, and see how it lays, i figure ill have to do the same with that as i will with the bed. heres some pics when i got to workin on it today!

LAYIN FRAME!

heres the rear, the bags r mounted on the wishbone so its restricting the drop

how low it was before i got my hands on it, it barly wouldnt let me but my boot under it, now i can barly get a pen under it

took of the heater box cuz it was hitting and i dont need it, might be worth some money on CL

took these out of the rear of the cab, still need to get the other 2 in front of it

thats all for today guys, ill get back on it tomorrow after i get home, the damn snow really puts a damper on what one can do in wet ground

Re: Its on its way!!

yea, i like the way long beds look! personally i like the look of the 73-79 front end on a longbed better, but i think this thing will look sick with big wheels!

Re: Its on its way!!

The rear looks great. The front isn't anywhere close to being finished. I wouldn't let my worst enemy drive it like that. PLEASE have it finished..... boxed and angular gusseting top and bottom. If your welder friend wants to argue that it is safe, it's time to find a new welder friend.

Re: Its on its way!!

you took the body mounts out....wow...

and I've already voiced my thoughts on the front end...also, on the rear, if he had done it BOA it would lay frame in the rear...just a thought
