Rear Axle Question

Thinking about buying some 5 lug axles to convert my 6 lugger and need to know if the 5 lug axles out of a 71 burb 2wd will fit in my axle housing I have on the chssis of a 67 truck?? For some reason I think I read on here that the 71/72 rearends were narrower??

Thanks for any help! Geoff

Re: Rear Axle Question

I think the 71-2 are 1" wider than 67-70

Re: Rear Axle Question

71-72 2wd rearends are 3/4" wider per side.
(1-1/2" total)
ECE sells "conversion" axles that will fit your narrower 6-lug housing.
