Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

After a little searching on stylin trucks, it looks like the style of tonneau cover that I wanted is too expensive and not offered for an 8ft bed. So I think I want to get something like a snap on cover, but I don't want to deal with snaps. Something like the Lund Peal N Seal is what I want to get, but I don't see one offered for an 80's Chevrolet truck. I'm also looking for one where the frame covers the bed rails and top of the tailgate, since my bed rails have some holes that didn't get fixed in paint and the top of my tailgate is a little messed up.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

I know you said you didn't want a snap on, but I love mine. I think it looks original to the truck. I don't haul anything in this truck, so I don't remove it, but it was a "snap" to install (pun intended). I picked it up for $40 on Craigslist including hardware. I can remove it and reinstall it in about then minutes. Wish I had a better pic. . .

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

A guy I knew had one that looked identical to the cover with the snaps except instead of snaps it kind of sealed shut like a zip-lock bag. He replaced the one with snaps with the zip-lock one and it was great. comes right off and on and a minute or so. I don't know what brand it was though.

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

http://www.checkerpro.com/index.html

These guys bought out a company that made cheap, vinyl covers for our trucks, but discontinued them!

We need to put the pressure on these guys to make them again.

I had one for my old silverado and they were VERY nice for the price.. hinged too.

I plan on trying to make one myself from these pics and what I can remember about it.

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

I have the Lund peel and seal cover on my 03, and I love it. I was like you I didn't really want the snaps, but needed a soft cover that was easy to remove when I needed to pull our gooseneck trailer. I'm pretty sure I got mine from Summit.

you said you dont ever remove it, so it's fine for you, but i know me and i'll be removing mine left and right and i dont want snaps to deal with, ive had bad luck with snaps on other stuff in the past.

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

Yeah it's really nice. The only problem I have with it is there are some plastic clips at the ends of each bow, and they keep breaking off so it won't keep the bows tight enough. Other than that it's nice.

Re: Tonneau Cover that fits on our trucks?

that looks good, i would like to see one with the covers that fit inside of the bedrails. i never thought something as easy as picking a bed cover would be such and task. I guess since i had the body shop take the stake holes out that i wouldnt want them to be covered.
