67-72 steel floor in a 60-66

Finally got one, it was a long bed but outlawc and I cut it down to a shortbed. Thanks for your help outlawc!! It fits very good, will have to redrill some holes to bolt it to the bed though. Here are some pics.

I have mine sitting in storage waiting for the swap. Looks good.... Anything of note that might prevent problems during the swap?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

The front bed panel will have to be modified. Since the wood was 3/4 thick, the flange will have to be cut and moved up then welded. I also had to trim this area (in pic) for the sides to fit right. Other than that it wasnt to bad.

Re: 67-72 steel floor in a 60-66

I'm raising the floor so the front panel is getting modified regardless; I'll watch out for that rear corner now that I'm informed (Thanks!).

I did buy a MarK smooth front panel for the 68 so I might see if it would work as well.

I have a 67-72 front panel here and its different at the top in the corners to the 60-66 panels. I thought about using it also.

Did the 67-72 bed floor bolt right to the 60-66 frame stock locations?
Thanks

Yeah i was lucky, mine wasnt too bad. In the back it was beat up, but after the 8 inches were taken out it took out most of the bad area.

Hey, Cap'n. My '66 is a short stepper & to find a bed floor that was nice, I had to use one from an '03 Silverado. Was obviously from a construction type longbed truck w/200K on it, but floor was still nice--go figure. It worked VERY nicely. Worst part was the holes I had to drill & then file square w/a 3-sided file.

Looking back, it may have been a bigger job of fitting had it been a fleetside or a longbed.
HTH,
sam
