I dont if i should put this here
This was a 52 foot liner i got out of a truck and decided to make me a sandblasting room inside the shop out of part of it. It contains dust and sand pretty well. Now when i am done sand blasting i just remove it and i have the rest of the shop back. I am still trying to work on the exhaust set upfor it to run a hose out side. What is great about it it only take about 20 minutes to hang.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
A big shop vac with a good dry filter might suck some of the dust out of the tent.
We used to use a similar setup to paint cars in the school shop when we didn't have a paint booth. |

Re: I dont if i should put this here
I was planing on doing something like that to paint in. I like how you did it, but I'm thinking about making some sort of a frame out of PVC for rigidity.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
That is a neat idea. I like it. Does the "floor" of the liner attach to the sides?

Re: I dont if i should put this here
I had same idea for paint room but was going to use steel studs and fasten them together with bolts and wing nuts so it would be easy to take apart and store.

Nice work on the booth, that will definitely come in handy.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
It is a compleatly sealed bag except this one end that i enter on. i use plastic clips to seal it on that end. I will use a pvc frame in the summer when i use it outside. Thats whats so nice about it its moble and clear, the lights in the shop is all that is needed. I had thought of this about a year ago when i was walking down to our unloading docks and it just hit me, that would be a perfect sandblasting room and told the guy to hold one for me and its been rolled also setting under the bench until i was ready to blast. I have been using a shop vac like suggested for dust suction but it really dosent move enough air. I will get some flexable 6" hose from the plant and hook it up to a blower the i have and blow it to the out side outside but right now i want to sandblast. I have about 40' of this bag left. If any body want a section come by and we will cut it. All you would need to do is seal one end with clamps. Just a thought.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
You have some good ideas just work the fresh air issues out and don't use a cheap simple paint mask in it.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
only problem if using sand you're sealing yourself in with the very toxic dust and unless you have a freash air respirator for yourself the health risks skyrocket

Re: I dont if i should put this here
I have a good resperator that i use for painting, The exhaust fan would be to keep the room clear so i can see what i am doing.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
That is great. Awesome idea and easy to clean-up. Will have to get out that way and check it out in person. It was great to meet you and the wife this morning, look forward to seeing you at some of our get togethers. If you ever need any help, give a shout.

Re: I dont if i should put this here
Hope you were using a supplied-air respirator,,,that's a pretty dangerous setup with paint!

Re: I dont if i should put this here
This room is not used for painting, and i have a 6" exhaust hooked to a squirrel cage fan with a fresh air intake into the bag. the bag stays fairly clear of dust while i am blasting. But i would never blast without a resperator or head and body protection
