Re: Shaved my doors

AVS has a kit on sale right now. That is the kit I have I think I got it for $150 for two door kit with everything you need, took about 1 hr to install. The kit has the dual gear actuators and seem to work good so far.

If you have the $$ to spend I would buy the AVS kit, seems like a very good and straight forward product. I've always just used an alarm, pulled a couple springs out of the door latch assembly, and used door lock actuators but for for only $150 why screw with it.

More progress pics of your blazer would be great

The most recent pictures are on the other thread. I should get it back Tuesday to get the wiring done for the doors, alarm and maybe even the engine before i get it painted.

I was looking at it earlier, but i was thinking maybe i just need the solenoids and maybe the poppers. Along with a better alarm system.

Re: Shaved my doors

I quoted copperchevy...he didn't add any info to the post that was of any good without a proper link to what he was actually talking about...a general link to another forum is going to do you no good without a ton of searching...

No pic but the kit is still $150 on the site. I have the universal kit with 2 remotes, 2 actuators (no poppers). I think right now if you are a member of c10 forum you also get a discount but it might be for just the acuators.

It's a simple install. I am not sure how most people put them in but mine is hooked up to the lever that uses the inside handle and hooked another cable to the inside handle so it can still be used. If you run into any problems just post up and somebody will help ya out.

I did not get the poppers with mine and works fine. I still have my locks for now until I shave the doors. I bought the kit before shaving.
