Tie rod adjusting sleeves

Has anyone used the adjusting sleeve that can be purchased at Performance online? I'm upgrading the front end on my '63 c-10 to disc brakes and replacing all the tie rod ends. I'm using parts off of '79 c-10 1 1/4" rotor. I ordered the outer tie rod ends for a '79 and the inner for a '63. The outer tie rod ends screw right in to the sleeve like it should. The inners will not thread? The diameter seems to be correct but just will not thread...

Also, should one end be left and the other right handed threads?

Part number HPAS66370

Thanks

Re: Tie rod adjusting sleeves

I have the POL "conversion" adjusting sleeves on my '69.

You will need to used 63-70 outer tie rods as an inner tie rod.

Seems like when they switched to disc brakes in 1971,... they swap which tie rod was left hand thread and which tie rod was right hand thread.

I wish POL would tell you this,... because, just like you,... I have a brand new set of inners (that I
painted), that I can't use.

Re: Tie rod adjusting sleeves

For example,... if your '79 outers are right hand thread,... the 63-70 outers will be left hand thread.

The POL sleeves are threaded with an 11/16" thread for the 71-up tie rods and a 5/8" thread for the 63-70 tie rods.
