4 link help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Having troubles finding info on 4 link. Application is on a 70 c-10 swb, I want to run air ride with a pretty fat tire, not laying frame but want a decent drop with just c-notch. This is a street application with a dream of someday a big block w/ 6spd. Can somebody tell me pros and cons of 4 link parallel vs. 4 link triangular. Some links with pics are always helpful and what ever info you guys can provide. I saw some of the Captain Fab's work but that was about only thing I could find (great but want some more info). Art Morrison kit could be a option, but additional options would be great. Also doesn't sound like panhard bar is not the best, looking at Watts Link...any suggestions?

Well if you run a Parallel, your either going to have to run a Watts or panhard to keep the axle centered. With a trianguled link you dont nedd on. If you plan on racing it use adjustable link tabs. You can use the stock trailing arms, Theres nothing wrong with them at all, and are very strong for a big block, Since you dont want to lay frame they will do you fine. You will heed a adjustable panhard or a watts link. If you are good at fabing the Art Morrison would be easy to make.

Cool, thanks for the info. Didn't realize the panhard or watts wasn't needed on triangular. Not sure that either of these are necessary but figure if I'm going to spend $400 on watts link with trailing arms, why not step up to the Morrison triangular for another 100 bucks or so (that and it looks sweet). Not laying frame but would like to be at least a couple inches from ground. Like to run the 20 x 22 wheel combo, so just wondering with the link setup if there will be enough room behind back of wheel.

if you do end up with a triangular set up, make sure that your upper bars are atleast 30* or your diff will walk from side to side. I think SD sells a watts for like $300. I was thinking the Art Morrison kit was more then $500. I haven't looked at in in a long time.
