Painted bumper question

Hi folks,

I recently purchased a nice 71/72 white front bumper from Randy (teeitup) to replace the 73-80 bumper that someone had put on the front of my 72 Custom/10. And I found a 67-72 rear sport bumper locally that I'm planning on using to replace the beat up step bumper.

The rear bumper I found has what appears to be factory silver paint under a white re-paint. Out of curiosity, what year(s) had silver bumpers? And were they only used with certain body colors?

My truck is orange with a white roof so I'm planning on painting the bumpers white. The rear licence plate panel is currently silver. What color would it have been originally with a white sport bumper?
