Bucket Seat Mounting

Hey fellas I just recently purchased a set of bucket seats to mount in my 70 swb and I am taking the bench out of it. The thing that I was wandering about was does my cab have holes to mount my buckets or do I have to buy a special type of brace to adapt them to the cab?

Re: Bucket Seat Mounting

It takes a special crossmember that is welded to bottom of the floor, along with 4 special brackets welded on as well. You can make it work with cheaper solutions, but the parts I describe are what factory bucket seat cabs have. Trevor

Re: Bucket Seat Mounting

i've always positioned seata for comfort then drilled new holes and used 3" washers made from 1/4"steel to the bottom of the cab // always worked good with no issues

Re: Bucket Seat Mounting

where can I get the crossmember and tabs? Do they make them in a repro version? How else could I mount them?

Re: Bucket Seat Mounting

Paul and Jason on here, make reproductions of the brackets. Their business is called "Duncan and Son pickup parts". I have a set that I am going to be using in my crew cab project. Unfortunately, the crossmember is a hard piece to find, and no one reproduces them. You have to know what you are looking at to snag one.
Alternatives are making your own brackets, depending on how your fabrication skills are. Trevor
