Nice truck! I see you live in Asheville. I was in Tryon Labor Day weekend 2008 picking up a car with a buddy of mine. There are trucks everywhere down there!

Re: 1972 GMC SierraGrande,Custom Camper
Nice job on the restoration! Glad your truck didn't go thru a metamorphis into a lowered 1/2 ton SWB with mags. Your 3/4 ton custom camper has a sharp, clean, heavy duty factory look that seems to be underrated and underappreciated on this site.I am sure your truck will inspire others to restore and preserve one of the best kept secrets of the 67-72 era. Most custom campers came with great options and most original owners took great pride in their RV rigs.

Re: 1972 GMC SierraGrande,Custom Camper
That's a great truck Dave. I had a 70 Sierra Grande that was also a Custom Camper 402/TH400. Loved that truck but ran out of room...

She`s looking Fine,Dave!
I`ve been on to the Custom Campers for a loooong time. The tend to be better preserved,if they`ve been camper haulers the whole time.

Re: 1972 GMC SierraGrande,Custom Camper
I use www.photobucket.com .It`s free and the pictures are automatically sized for whatever is required.I you can cut & paste you can do p-bucket.If you need help with it let me know.
What`s nice about your truck is that color is a timeless one used from about day 1,and is still used.I ordered my`92 GMC in that color.I had a`53 p/u,`69 C/20,and a`71 Blazer all that color. It`s truck tradition at it`s best.Although the color has not always been in the production line up,it has always been offered as a fleet color. It`s the green in Mayflower Van Lines and all the Park Ranger trucks you`ve seen all our life. You don`t normally see a well optioned truck in this color. It makes the truck all the more unique. And,it`s an attractive color!I wanted the GM truck tradition carried through in my`92.I bet it`s the only truck like it.Maybe some day that will matter like I it was one of these trucks.Works or me in the meantime.

Re: 1972 GMC SierraGrande,Custom Camper
Very nice dave. Glad yer keepin' her alive and well. I have a 72 camper special and I'm wondering what size tires yours is riding on. Unfortunately, mine had aftermarket wider rims when I got her.
