8 Lug Wheels for 4x4

Hey all,

As my build progresses I am looking for some 8 lug wheels for my 85 project. I am not sure what will fit, I kinda like the look of the old AR wheels with the holes all the way around them. I have wagon wheels on it now as you can see in my avitar, but I am going to put some serious snow tires on them when I get some good wheels for the rolling chassis.

Could you post some pics of what you got, I would like to see 4x4, but 2wd will give me some good ideas too.

Thanks,

Sarge

What size tires are those and what lift do you have to run them?

Several other companies make exact copies of those wheels. I had them in 15" on my 90 Z71 with 33x12.50's on them.

33x15.5x16 and I run a 3 inch body only. The rims are 10 wide.

Here's my '85 K20 with Dick Cepek DC1 blacks. It doesn't look so great here, but will be better when the truck is finished.

Re: 8 Lug Wheels for 4x4

My favorite GM wheel is the 99-up 2500 option PY0 wheels.

I know a few guys on here run them and they look great on a square body.

You can even trim out the center emblem to clear locking hubs.

The only down side with them is the fairly narrow width. The ones I have are marked 16x6.

What is the largest tire anybody has put on these?

Re: 8 Lug Wheels for 4x4

I would be ok with the width, I will be plowing with the truck so a narrower tire would be better for me, also saves me from having to run 2 sets of wheels on the truck too. They do look nice on that red truck you posted a picture of.

Most wrecking yards have stacks of them too. My local one sells them for $100 each in A condition.

I forgot who posted that in another thread but I'm sure they will chime in.

I'd love to see other pics of it.

Re: 8 Lug Wheels for 4x4

The ones on the yellow truck are Eagle Alloys 055's I love them.http://www.tiresbyweb.com/p-7971-eag...ed-wheels.aspx
Also check out the series 102. they are great and easy to polish because the lug cover keeps you from having to polish around the nuts, and theres not alot of nooks and crannys to get around other than the similated beadlock.

Re: 8 Lug Wheels for 4x4

A set of the military H1 Hummer 36x12.50-16.5's would be pretty cool. You would need at least a 6" lift probably an 8" to clear them.

LT 285 75R16 my truck is not 4 wheel drive and sits at factory height, I have seen as big as 315's on a 4 wheel drive,
I have no rubbing problems on steering lock to lock

Thanks. That is good to know. I was going by the tire charts and they don't suggest more than a 235 on a 6" rim. I don't want something that narrow on my truck. The 285 will do nicely.

Ask and you shall recieve. LOL. These are recentered Hummer H1 double beadlocks with 33-12.5/16.5s with 6 inches of lift
