Basement build thread... semi Man Cave!

OK, this will be a slow, very slow, basement remodel. We have about an 800 sq ft basment with three small window, utilities and one stair case. I'll post some pics for now and i'll work on a drwaing this week on the layout...

I started with block walls that had been covered in Dry-Lock in the past. Some of the dry-lock was blistering so I cleaned that up and recoated. The plan is to use 1/2 foam board, 2x4 stud wall with R-13 unface insulation, and green drywall...

Storage is the first plan, the wife and I have cut down on the crap that we hoard, but there still are a few boxes that need to hang around.

I picked up the metal shelving from a shoe store that was downsizing for a good price, better than placing more wood in the basement that could mold...

Re: Basement build thread... semi Man Cave!

The mess loks worse since I moved everything around to coat the floor with an epoxy paint.

First corner was the storage area, that will allow me to get at the rest of the basement...

Re: Basement build thread... semi Man Cave!

Got to dabble in drywall and joint compound... I would not want to do that for a living, what a mess and PITA!

Shevling up, start moving in the christmas bins!

I left it in primer so hopefully there won't be any condensation between the layers...

This project will be slow since I only buy $200 in product every two weeks, keeps it manageable and off the credit card...

Are the wind chimes your security system? Someone tries to steal the bed sides and you will hear them down there?

I'm more worried about the tach/vac/speedwarning setup! I have a new hood in that mess too!
