Cool 67 Truck info...Later Models to Follow

padreisla you asked for this 67 INFO Hopes this is of Help
1967 -72 TRUCKS ARE CALLED THE CUSTOM SPORT TRUCK ERA. ACCORDING TO ONE MAGAZINE (CLASSIC TRUCK I THINK?) THESE TRUCKS HAVE NEVER LOST THEIR APPEAL TO MAIN STREAM AMERICA PLUS THEY WERE THE FIRST GENERATION OF TRUCKS TO HAVE CAR LIKE OPTIONS SUCH AS; A/C, AM/FM RADIO, BIG BLOCK, BUCKETS SEATS, TACH, ETC. IT IS SAID THESE TRUCKS HAVE REACHED THE ICON STATUS OF THE TRI-FIVES. PARTS ARE EASY TO COME BY AND THEYRE ARE DOZENS OF SUPPLIERS FOR THE TRUCKS SUCH AS GMCPAUL AND CLASSIC HEARTBEAT. PLUS THERE ARE MANY OTHER FINE SUPPLIER OF TRUCK PARTS. YOU WILL FIND THE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD AND A FEW OTHER SIGHTS VERY HELPFUL.
ONE MIGHT SAY THIS IS AN EXTENDED FAMILY.
1967 WAS THE BEGINNING OF THESE GREAT TRUCKS AND STANDARD AND CUSTOM TRIM LEVELS WERE AVALIABLE FOR YOUR 67 TRUCK. A TRIM OPTION WAS THE CST (CUSTOM SPORT TRUCK) WHICH MADE THE TRUCK LOOK A LITTLE NICER. ONE COULD GET BUCKET SEATS AND A 327 V8 IN THESE TRUCKS. TWO MODELS WERE FLEETSIDE AND STEPSIDE. I BELIEVE BOTH COULD BE HAD IN LWM OR SWB (LONG WHEEL BASE/SHORT WHEEL BASE). I BELIEVE A CUSTOM CAMPER HAS A 8 1/2' BED WHICH WAS AN OPTIONAL BED TO BE USED WITH CAMPER TOPS.

HOPES THIS LITTLE BIT OF INFO HELPS. THERE ARE MANY BOKS AVALIABLE ABOUT THESE TRUCKS.

REMEMBER: ANYONE CAN DRIVE A DODGE OR FORD, BUT IT TAKES SOMEONE SPECIAL TO OWN AND DRIVE A 67-72 CHEVY/GMC TRUCK!!

On the 8 1/2 foot bed for custom campers, thats not quite correct.
Quote:
from GM truck data bookCUSTOM CAMPER NAME PLATE...Chassis cab and pick ups only. Minimum tire requirements 7.50-16/8pr tube type or 8.00-16.5/10PR tubeless tire for single rear tire aplications. Daul rear tires avalible on C/20 cab-chassis models only.
With standard suspention ony requires front stabilizer, HD rear shocks and HD rear springs, or aux rear springs.
With optional rear leaf suspension, requires front stabilizer, HD front shocks, and HD rear springs.
K20 models require HD rear springs, and HD rear shocks.
That is directly from the GM truck data book, word for word.
The Longhorn, is not an option in any way shape or form, but actually has its own model numbers. Here is a quote from my Longhorn web site;
Quote:
From The Longhorn WebsiteFor the 3/4 ton, a six cylinder will be a CS21034, while the V-8 trucks should be CE21034. If you're dealing with a one ton truck, the six cylinder will be CS31034, and CE31034 for the V-8 trucks.
Hope this clears things up a little.
Andy

And after re-reading that, in 67 there were no 8 1/2 foot beds, they didn't make them untill march 11th of 68.
