Hey I'm new here..my k20
Hello I'm new member, my is name Jordan. I bought my 86 K20 few months ago but I wanted it(exact truck) since I was 10yrs old and I'm 26 now ha so its dream come true.
Has rebuilt 350 5.7L engine and new remanufactured transmission before I bought it. New stock style dual exhaust I wanna swap out with flowmasters but there new. Sitting on 35x12.5x16.5 all terrains. It must have Skyjacker suspenion because theres a sticker in cab about it. I'm not sure what inch lift? any Ideas? So far I've had to replace the fuel pump and fix fuel lines and new rear shoes. Next I need to replace all 7 shocks. I'll need ball joints and tierods too soon. Its great in the snow I was at a christmas party last week and when I left at 1am my truck was buried. I turned the hubs droped it into 4low and crawled out of hole I was stuck in. I was the only one able to go home. Unplowed streets not a problem. haha My 4wd low works but cant seem to get 4wd high to stay. I hope the transfer case is okay. I'll get that checked out soon too. It has dual tanks but the passeger side was disconnected before I bought it. I dont know whats deal with the cap, I wish it wasnt exposed. My other plans are to install driving lights, loud air horn, remove tint, new steering wheel, new armrest, and cleaning it up alot. Repainting grill/headlight bezels...new tail lights. Im going to remove the diamond plate steps soon as spring gets here. Anyway I hope you guys like my truck, I'll be on here commenting and sharing. I will probably have million questions to ask ha. |

Welcome to the site.
You've got a killer truck already, and it sounds like you've got the fever, which means that puppy is gonna get MODDED!! You came to the right place. In your journey with this truck, you will use a lot of Google searches, and I guarantee, about 60% of those searches will bring you right back to this forum! Ask away. This is the place for it. |

Welcome to the board.
You have a great looking truck and by what you've said, it sounds like it is a nearly bullet proof truck. Looking forward to more.

Welcome to the boards! That is one sweet truck you have. It has a great stance! Like stated before you won't find more info, and more helpful people than here. I'm looking forward to seeing what more you do to it.

Re: Hey I'm new here..my k20
Great looking truck!!! I wish mine was a K20 instead of a C20! The tank question: either the bedside was replaced with the older exposed cap side, or it's an aftermarket second tank add on. Both sides should have the gas door. More than likely the transfer valve went bad, and the owner just bypassed it to run one tank. Just crawl up under there and see what's there/not there; and go from there. Get a LMC truck catalog, it has exploded view pictures of everything.

Nice looking truck. Welcome to the board.
I had 35's on my 81 K20 and it took a 6" lift to clear them. Looked about like what you have so I would guess that is what you have too.

Re: Hey I'm new here..my k20
Thanks alot guys...I can tell this forum has alot nice people willing to help and share. Nice to meet you all.
Thanks "68 TT" I wasnt sure if I had a 4 inch lift but possibly a 6 inch lift wow thats awesome. yeah "3r!c84" I will either get new rear bumper or just paint it black. I was thinking about getting new tails with crome trim because there faded one has a crack. I think the LMC company is the best I've spent hours already looking over that catalog lol and I bought a Haynes manual. I also have a aluminum cap that needs to be repainted black. I was thinking about painting it camo for fun. I'll just use it summer going to beach and camping. Here pic of my jetta and truck |
