70 gmc 2 piece drive shaft question

I have the two piece drive shaft and I need to replace the carrier bearing assembly. Does any one know the part number of the replacement bearing assembly. I have tried a few auto stores but they dont have what I need.
Thanks for the help.

Re: 70 gmc 2 piece drive shaft question

Dunno if this will help, or not, I'm lazy; I just take the whole drive line assembly to the drive shaft shop & have them R & R the carrier bearing.
When they're done, I get everything back & it''s all nice & balanced & whatnot.

It's just less chance for me to screw up the drive shaft & making things really expensive.
Just my li'l .02.

Good luck.

GMC Pauls has them listed for $28.95. Both types front rear and side to side. Under suspension parts. I haven't looked lately but I believe ECE may have a beefer one for more coin. Additionally most of the vendors would have these.

Re: 70 gmc 2 piece drive shaft question

in the past some have said there are a few really cheap made ones on the market that don't last but just a few thousand miles and tear up again. Bekieve you maybe better off ordering from one of the board vendors who would likely care about the customer's they want to maintain.
