1977 C20- Installing Step up to cabin

Are there any bits around to install a step / running board for a C20. I drag my backside in and my 7 yo grandaughter almost needs a ladder to get in. I am hoping there is a bolt on part from something taht may help me. Otherwise I shall make something.
Thanks

each aftermarket kit attaches differently.. the long running boards screw to the rocker panel lip and the inner wheel well others bolt to the frame

Re: 1977 C20- Installing Step up to cabin

Mine has theses simple steps bolted to the rocker seam. My 4 & 5 year old girls use them to get in & out of the truck.

I can get the brand name off them this afternoon when I head home from work if you are interested.

Re: 1977 C20- Installing Step up to cabin

I will take a better pic of them when I get home tonight with the mfg name visible.

They are bolted through the rocker panel pinch welded seam.

I can stand on them and they are very solid.

Re: 1977 C20- Installing Step up to cabin

OK, the step on mine says Tedco but could also be Tegco. Hard to tell on the casting in the dark.

They are probably as old as the truck.

The design transfers the load put on them up into the corner of the floor and rocker panel so they feel very solid when you step on them. Even at 200 pounds I don't feel them move at all when I stand on them. Good design.

Re: 1977 C20- Installing Step up to cabin

The CARR hoops fasten the same exact way. As long as your pinch weld is good, it makes for a solid platform.
