Re: Show your motor..73-87

Here is a shot of the engine that I am currently working on putting in the truck.

Name:  engine.jpg
Views: 6333
Size:  88.8 KB

It is currently sitting in the truck with a freshly rebuilt 700R4. Just waiting on Christmas to be over to get all the stuff to make it run!

It is a 350 4 bolt main bored 20 over. I think it is a early 70's block. It has 202 76cc heads. Comp Thumpr Cam, and everything else is just pretty basic.

Re: Show your motor..73-87

Here's my 350-4 bolt for my 74 project, Bored 30 over 9.5-1 with the biggest Iskey cam I could get (can't find my spec sheet) and still marginally have enough vacuum for power brakes. The heads got a major work over installed with steel gaskets, Both intake and headers were port matched. It computer dyno-ed in the 340 hp range.

Assembled in my family room;

Yes..... That's one of my custom built/tuned Q-jets sitting on there.

It was in the truck long enough to test run and find the "Good" used turbo 350 junk, I now have a new race ready turbo 350 and 2000 stall converter to install when the truck goes back together.

Just before stripping the truck to the bare frame;

This post just wouldn't be complete without a pic of my 502 even though it's in my 97, It could go in any year.

Re: Show your motor..73-87

This ones going in after the first of the year. Im going Ratrod with this truck

Its a standard bore 427, decked .100, race prepped Rehr Morrison closed chambered heads, Keith Black Pistons, 280h cam, 4bolt main, steel standard crank, balanced, blueprinted, intake and heads are port matched with a 750 Holley. Goin to put it with a built Th400 tranny, and 3:73 gears in this

I had alot of other plans for this truck, but since I got the extended cabs, I just want to drive this thing. I have everything but headers and a drive shaft.

1973 454 big block. HP adders... rat turd air intake, brass plug exhaust headers, aluminum diet soda can exhaust heat wrap, oxidation power brakes, and electrical tape battery top-post to side-post conversion. the leaves merely make it a true sleeper on the streets

355 with RHS Aluminum Heads, Manley H-Beam Rods, SRP 21cc dish pistons, 7.8 CR, Summit 1105 Cam. Was all set with a 70mm turbo but I destroyed the rear end, and exploded the trans so that was put on hold.

Re: Show your motor..73-87

That looks really good 85 c-10. I will see if I can get a picture of the 355 that is going in my truck. But right now is nothing special...at all.

Edit: I stole a pic of my "new" motor from Bob's build thread. I got the 355 hr took out of Fred. I will be getting a few parts from another member as soon as I can get my money together. Like an intake, carb, and HEI. Then I will paint it all and shove it in the truck.
