Saved a Square today

This old thing, a 77 GMC C10.

I talked my friend into buying it for 100 bucks. It was going to the crusher if we hadn't picked it up. It has No rust, amazingly.

I traded him my old q-jet and a NAPA battery for the grillguard on the front. (it didn't have a carb or battery)

It runs alright, a couple gallons of gas a lot of "PUMP IT!' and backfiring but we got it running. It runs great now, the TH350 shifts good. Plans are to lift the rear end 2 inches, rebuild the engine and transmission and call it a day.

Pics:

Good job! What a steal. Can't go wrong there even if it falls in 2 pieces tomorrow. Still ahead on that one.

Re: Saved a Square today

He likes the look of stock front height and a jacked up rear end.

Friends truck, not mine. I had to run to NAPA to get a air filter for him, he was busy hooking up the starter.

Re: Saved a Square today

Still am amazed at the steals you can get on these trucks .Wish I had the dough to buy them all up > store them for 10 yrs or so then retire. Again, a 67-72 in this condition would bring 2 -3 k. Hang on to em guys -our day is coming
