Project '67 GMC "AO" (All Original)

Ok, as of Thursday July 27th, 2010 I'm rewriting the first post.

Alot has been done since I got the truck in December of 2009, on the second page you'll find the updated photos.

I've gotten the little six pulled and it is currently being rebuilt.
It's at the bodyshop being worked on steadily by the great staff there.
It's being painted Alpine Green Pearl Metallic inside & out, with the door panel inserts, steering wheel & column and the glove box being painted gloss black.
So far body work is about 75% done and should be seeing the booth soon.
Below are pictures I took when I got it in December 2009. The truck has always been in the family and was my great grandpa's, it had been sitting in his garage for 15 years since the day he died. We got it to running, drove it and then started the rebuild.

This is great example of an all original truck survivor! I love the truck! As far as value? That is kinda hard to come up with sometimes. Yours looks really nice! Is that factory paint everywhere? it looks really bright and the interior is kinda gold? Yep, the woodgrain wallpaper is definetly NOT all original....some people will do crazy things.

Come to find out it was repainted once, and it was horribly done. I won't go into details, but the painters did a lousy job. They didn't even bother to remove a sticker on the bumper, they painted it over. All of the wallpaper has since been removed.

as far as value, without seeing it in person, it's hard to gauge. BUT it's a desireable year, it's a swb, it's a GMC, and it has not been cut up. I'd say on a good day, with everything back to original, your looking in the 7-8,000 range. the fact that it's a 3 speed and a six cylinder isn't going to hurt the price that much.....

there are still a lot of guys out there looking for bone stock, original rigs and will pay the money for it.

Nice looking truck! I like original trucks more all the time after seeing so many nice trucks get cut up. Custom trucks are nice if done with good taste but original never goes out of style.

Great looking survivor!!! Do you have any plans for it? Returning it to it's original status, lowering it, etc?

From one similar truck owner to another, IMO... tcb-1 is exactly right.

My '69 was in a similar situation as your: Original truck, interior, drivetrain inline 6 w/ 2 spd powerglide, one repaint, etc. I think the $7-8k price range would be about right for this truck. Now... the main kicker in my opinion is the paint job which as you mentioned above wasn't done very well by the PO. My truck was repainted once in its 40 years, but was done well.

I'm with these guys, the 6bang and 3ott doesn't hurt the value at all. As far the paint...I agree with Nate a bad paint job will kill the value.

What are you planning? Personally, I wouldn't hack an original truck, especially a clean one like yours. They just need to be driven! You can build one custom piece by piece if you want cheap enough. There just aren't very many survivors left out there.

There again, I'm with Mike as well. A survivor is only a survivor once.

My truck is a true survivor for this area: original rockers, cab corners, etc. So what modifications I am going with will be reversible; simple bolt on bolt off kind of a deal.

I have (now had) the same interior paint color on my 67 GMC 3/4ton. Gold-ish interior and red on the outside. Thought it was kind of strange. It would be interesting to know if the re-paint green is the original color.

BTW, I'm guessing that the footprint gas pedal adds a couple $$$. Nice.

Let's see a picture of the SPID sheet on the inside of the gloveboxe door. This should give some info on the paint.

Only thing about the after is there isn't any carpet. Painted entire door and refurbished the both panels.

I didn't, currently bodywork and paint is being done on the inside & out should be out of the shop with fresh paint in a week.

It's being painted Alpine Green Pearl Metallic I believe. (It's been awhile since I picked out the color.) The color is from an 2001 Nissan Xterra. The inside of the cab & exterior is being painted the before mentioned green. The steering wheel, door panel inserts, glovebox door is being painted gloss black.
