Re: variable ratio steering?
I know that 74-76 trucks had variable ratio steering as an option, as we had a shop truck that was a 76 that had variable ratio. I would look at one of those from NAPA or some other location as a rebuild, they are the same as our model boxes (they will bolt up and use standard fittings) after about 80 they transitioned to metric and o ring fittings. these should be cheaper the the AGR or might even be the same box with a sticker on them.

Re: variable ratio steering?
I bought the constant ratio box from AGR for my Jimmy. I wish I had bought the variable ratio as the on-center feel is better. You have to buy their pump to not void the warranty.
