Hot wire when ignition is on under hood?

Installing an electric fuel pump and i want it to come on when my ignition is on only, is there a wire somewhere under the hood i can splice into or do i have to go into the actual ignition switch?

Ignition unfused on the fuse box. I'd run a relay though.

Don't be in a hurry. Do it right. The fuse box is located under the dash on the far left of the driver's side.

Re: Hot wire when ignition is on under hood?

I am useing a Holly Blue electric fuel pump with a Fuel Pump Relay from www.ronfrancis.com Item Number: FP-35 or you can SOLVE TWO PROBLEMS GET YOUR FUEL PUMP RELAY AND ADD SAFETY! with there CRASH RELAY SWITCHES FOR ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS Item Number: CR-92

Or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-890023/ has a cheaper one for $24.95 Summit Racing SUM-890023

But I see you are short of time I know AutoZone caries them too and Kragen does too just alittle more expensive like $50bucks

Re: Hot wire when ignition is on under hood?

I found the unfused fusebox spot having too much there already. And used one off the ignition switch. When you start adding HEI, headlight mods, door poppers, electric antenna, electric choke, dual fans, and electric fuel pump among more stuff managing safe places to tap in becomes a challenge.
