I want to go out to the speedway and check it out. Do you guys know if there's stuff always on there? If there's nothing on can a guy still check it out or is it closed up.

If you're into stock car racing even just a little bit, you really should do the Richard Petty Driving Experience (http://www.1800bepetty.com/home.aspx), even just the 3-lap ride-along. Did it last year with the guided tour of their shop and it was a *blast* !! I only did the 3-lap ride-along, but even that is a lot of fun. Definitely want to do the self-driving experience next, and go from there. Their shuttle bus will pick you up/drop you off at the Luxor and another hotel, definitely recommended given the traffic (they were working on the interstate last spring and traffic southbound from the track was a bit of a nightmare). We're heading to Vegas Feb 7-11, unfortunately I'm gonna miss the events happening a couple weeks later. Ah well, next time. Have a good trip! (thanks for the vendor referrals, 4ofakind, we might have to check them out!)

Smoke, Are you still coming NASCAR Weekend? That is FEB 26-28. Lots going on at the Speedway then of course but traffic in and out is murder. Every Sat morning from 8-11 am they have Cars and Coffee. Feb 2 it will be @ the Sansone Park Place shopping center (215 & eastern) 9500 S. Eastern Ave. I don't know if they have it @ the same place each week. Every Sun morning they have Classic Cars and Coffee from 8-10 am @ Boulder Station Hotel & Casino atop the upper floor of the parking garage. The Speedway is pretty much always open. They have various things happening from time to time like was mentioned. They have a few shops (custom, offroad, and race) that are cool to visit; not to mention the driving schools. Too bad you are not coming in March. Mar 19-21 is the Super Chevy Show. Mar 26-28 is the Mopars @ the Strip. Hope this helps. Mal |
