Re: 99-2007 seat ?

they will fit fine. you will have to drill the floor pan and reinforce it. the 60/40 bench fits better. my daddy-in-law put them in his 68 and they worked ok. you loose some leg room with those you dont with the bench. i will try to get some pics of mine tomorrow.

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

Happy New Year !! Yes they will fit. I have pic on my puter at home of them installed in a truck. If no one posts a pic of them before I can I'll post a pic tomorrow afternoon after I get up from my night shift tonight.

I've got a set of those same seats ( with power both sides ) sitting on a shelf waiting to go in my truck but I'm not going to install them until I remove the gas tank from the cab. The one thing you have to do if you get them is reinforce the floor when you bolt them down as they would pull out of the floor in a hard impact if the floor wasn't reinforced.

The seats in the pic although the price is good look a little rough to me, check out the tilt on the drivers seat headrest and the lines in the vinyl on the front of the passenger seat. SGI gets lots of those seats and I'm sure you could find a nicer pair for the same or a little more money. SGI up here in S'toon just had a set for sale during Christams week and they were primo and wanted 250.00( and weren't there yesterday the 31st when I was there) but are always willing to negotiate.

If you decide to keep looking and if you want I'll keep an eye out for a set as I'm always at SGI Salvage and they don't take back orders anymore.

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

Happy New Year Greg! extra set of eyes are good. i would like to see a installed pic when you get time thanks. i missed the dr head rest tilt or lean. the arm rest for the driver is holed. the seller said that a offer was put on the table and he rejected it. maybe the buyer was seeing the true value after a close inspection? you know as i do that some times seats take a beating. in my sons car i had to strip the leather and foam off and rebuild the seat.

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

I pu a set in my 70 model just to try them. I have agbout 4or 5 sets of those since I rebuild and part out late model silverados. I found that the seat fit well, I just did'nt fit the seat. Until the tilt is installed I will stick with the seats I have now. I have buddy bucket for my 68 GMC and I also have found a set of buckets for my 70. The late model sets mighty close to the wheel. I am 6'2 and weigh about 350. So that problem may just be me. Jim

Jim a tilt wheel will definatly give you more space and you could also do
( which I plan to as well) is lenghten the notch in the steering column so you can push the steering wheel closer to the dash. I tried to find a link to attach which shows how to do it but they don't go that far back. Get ahold of board member "Putter" and maybe he'll post it again.

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

Thanks for posting the pic,Greg.I'm looking for a set of those in leather and I was wondering just how these seats would look installed.Does the gas tank have to be moved to use these seats? Or will they work either way?

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

The gas tank can stay, I have tilts for both of the trucks I'm building. I also plan to move[shorten] the tilt when I get around to it. Jim

You may be right but my seats are power and power seats always have more movement in all directions than standard seats. Besides I'm tired of the gas smell in the cab when I fill up. PM me your phone number or email address so if I run across a good set of seats at SGI I can call you.

Re: 99-2007 seat ?

thinking (thats scary ) in a 99 chev of a friends the 8 way leather power seat with heat and air bolsters, the seat travels up and down with out the rear of the seat moving. when the seat moves back and forward it moves as one. it also has the power recline thats moves as a manual recline does. with the hight of seat as tall as it is and relined to a good spot it will hit the back of the cab first. this is all with my tape measure ,protractor and straight edge and eyes. i would have to physically do a fitment to be 100% sure.
