V-8 serp. set-up.

Came from an 89-90 suburban with a V-8. I don't know anything about it, a buddy dropped it off and asked what i could get for it. We will start at $100 plus shipping. Looks pretty complete. Eric

Re: V-8 serp. set-up.

Is this not a popular conversion any more? Lets try $85 plus shipping.

IMO, it is the shipping cost issue (which is going to be pretty hight for this due to size and weight). Your asking price is about what yards in my area ask for them, and no shipping. These are great set ups, but pretty plentiful locally. You might try listing it Craigslist so potential buyers could pick it up and not have to pay shipping..

Bump for you... VA72C10 makes a good point. I am still amazed at how many people out there will pay a lot more than what "I" think something is worth, just by using a little cleaning up/ elbow grease. I got the one I used on my last truck COMPLETE with PS pump, alt and AC compressor that still had the lines connected/ pressure for $75. I tore it all apart, bead blasted the aluminum brackets, wire brushed the rest, installed an AC delete pulley (temporarily), new belt, belt tensioner and idler pulleys and slapped her on. I was runnng Vortec heads, so I didn't even have to drill any holes in the old heads. I used the fitting out of the back of the old PS pump in the "new" pump so I could use my old pressure hose.

Factory BBC set ups are like hen's teeth. There was an article in the Nov 09 issue of Car Craft regarding retrofitting the serpentine set. Kwik Performance sells a kit to adapt a facory SBC serpentine set up to a BBC:

http://www.kwikperf.com/bbc_serp_kit.html

The price for the kit is around $130, but that is still less than what I have seen factory BBC set ups go for.
