is Pamona any good in January?

Pamona is on the 17th and thinking about hauling my 64 down there. We have been to lots of them later in the year but never right after the holidays.

Any input would help as we would be making the drive from Reno and if its bunk were not going.

Don't know about Pamona but the Turlock swap meet is usually pretty big. http://www.turlockswapmeet.com/

Thanks for the info Fleetside!

Pamona has always been huge for us as here in NV you would think we would have more swaps and parts.. But we dont. For the exception of the HAN swap. ONCE A YEAR.

If we come I will be trailering down in hopes to find a trade for a automatic that my wife can drive.

Daddymack we moved to Reno from Vegas and that was a easy drive to Pamona now that we live all the way up here I need to make sure that its not going to be one of the slower one due to everyone trying to re coup from the holidays.

Nice truck by the way. I dont recall ever seening it in Vegas. We left this past July and were there for over 5 yrs.

Thanks! I had it out a few times while working on it... mostly on Sunday mornings.. 8 - 10 at the Dunkin Donuts on Craig and Jones about 60 - 80 cars and trucks. There were about 3 other 60-66 trucks and one beautiful suburban. I think that group moved now? Everything has taken longer than I expected..lol.. big surprise.. but hopefully it goes for exhaust today or tomorrow. So I should be driving it again tomorrow evening This time as a daily driver...

I have lived here pretty much all my life, except for Reno in 1980 - 83 ( while at UNR) and then L.A. area (mostly Hermosa Beach) for 7 years partly while back in school. Back in Vegas since 1990.

---- sorry for thread jack.... lol..

Looks like the Turlock show may be your best bet... it is a lot closer!

Re: is Pamona any good in January?

hey ssincity, check the LA craigslist for possible trades and also post on the HAMB....this might help with your decision on trading and the drive. Realisticaly its always a gamble at swapmeets, sometimes the place is on fire others its just a social gathering. I dont feel that by being the begining of the year will alter things.
I was at the last one of the year and there were about 10 60-66' chevy trucks all of various conditions. Prices were just as broad too....def try and scout the rest of this week and next before the long haul. BUT if the weather stays the way it is, should be a great drive for you and the lil lady regardless.

Re: is Pamona any good in January?

I am coming out to LA next weekend. I bought a 66 Nova SS out there I am picking up and then planning on going to the Pomona swap meet. I have a lot of 60-66 truck parts. I was wondering if this meet was any good also.

Or find nice parts I cant afford

Or find a ride that I want!
