tempting trade

okay i am thinking i already know what you guys are going to tell me but here it goes. i orginally planed on building my 73 back to the old school hot rod machine but today a guy i worked with a while back wants to trade me a ls6 with 12k miles computer, harnesses and tranny for my Harley. now my question what would that setup be worth ?? i don't know too much about them i only know it came out of a new corvette z06. and what would it involve putting the new heart in a old truck ?

Re: tempting trade

I don't know much about bikes, but I have a feeling that your bike is worth WAY more than what he's trying to trade you.

From what I recall, a complete 6.0L, 4L80E transmission, and computer plus harness seems to run under $2000.

This is just a ballpark guess, but I'm thinking this is not a good trade for you.

Re: tempting trade

Well an LS7 certainly changes things. That might be a decent trade. Make sure you check casting numbers to make sure it is what he says it is. I'd also be looking into what car and for what reasons that motor is not in it now.

yes it has a torque tube, and a tansaxel. but cant you change that out for a 6speed engine mounted trans?

or what would be badas* is keep that setup and try to get a longer torque tube and have a wel-balanced truck

bare in mind, the custom built bike market right now is very soft, almost a buyers market...something to consider
