Are the clam shells that fit on the block the same for a small and big block? Jay

Yes. Pulled the 400 sbc out of my '77 and dropped a '75 bbc in. Clamshells bolted up and fit fine.

2wd and 4wd have the same "clamshell" mounts. Old man had an 84 or something truck that was 2wd. 305 that barely ran, swapped in a 350 from an 81-82 4wd, and we didn't swap those mounts.

I've done 3 small block to big block swaps and never had to change anything.
