Any reason these headers won't fit?

So I was looking around at header and came across these on Summit. They are Headman's 69620 and are listed for a '61-'65 C10 but in the foot notes, it says this,

"C - For 1964-74 vehicles without A.I.R. systems, are considered as O.E.M. replacement parts when existing emission controls are not removed from vehicle."




I really like how this look and it seems they would have great plug/wire clearance. Has anyone tried these and if so, any problems? BTW, I am refering to 2WD trucks, since 4x4's have different crossmembers.

Go with Hooker Super Comps.

After all the monkey time you put into the cheaper versions of headers in getting them in, the few extra bucks spent on a better header pipe system will not seem so bad.

I have used the cheaper models (budget demands) on trucks and cars, and when I started using Hooker super comps or Doug Thorley models I was amazed at how much easier they were to install and remove.

It's not about the money for the most part, it's about ease of getting to the plugs and wire routing. I also like thing symetrical and these look good on all acounts. I have been close to pulling the trigger on a set of ECE (Sanderson's) but I don't like the way they look or plug clearance. I have had Thorley's on my '69 Camaro and they were the best headers I have ever owned but the C10 ones, I don't care for as much.

I would get these coated after test fitting but if they are not going to fit or clear the crossmember, no sense in even trying.

I wouldn't consider Hedman's a budget or cheaper model. I have run them on several vehicles with no issues.

IMO, the 61-65 Hedmans won't fit or they would be listed for 67=72

A while back I was at a local recycling place that buys cans and copper only and I picked up a set of stainless steel tri y headers for a sbc that the old codger po said came off a "Chevy truck", but he forgot what year (?) I think they must be Thorley's but don't see any name or markings. THey have a really thick head flange and smaller than normal collector. He was asking $50, but I told him that since I didnt know if they would fit my 72, I would give him $20. We agreed on $30. I would post pics, but it would just get more of you all riled up.
