4l60e/4l80e question

i have a 00 5.3l i am going to put into a 72 2wd blazer. i have the engine and aftermarket harness. i had the harness made for a 5.3l 4l60e my question is i dont have a trans yet but i do have a line on a 4l80e. are the electronics/plugs/controls the same or do i need to get a 4l60e? what all year 4l60e's are compatible with the 5.3? that i have

Im doing the same thing (5.3, 4l80e, 2wd blazer). To use a 4l80e with the harness you have you would have to add to plugs and have the computer reprogrammed. Im not sure what year 4l60e you can use but on the 4l80e's anything 96 and up will work.
