Question california black & yellow plate ?

my dad has a buddy that has a couple of old trucks in his yard. i believe he said they were fords, not sure of year that have a set of black plates on each one that should not be in the dmv computer anymore as they have not been on the road since like the 80's or so and are pretty stripped. could a set of these be used on my '67 burb under the (YOM)year of manufacture plate thing through the dmv? need to know asap thanks.

Re: california black & yellow plate ?

you might be able to reassign the plates if you have both and they have fallen out of the DMV system.

As long as you have 2 plates and the DMV says they are clear you can use them .Be sure to take the plates you want to replace off your truck and take them in with you.... i have done this several times very simple ..

Re: california black & yellow plate ?

I believe to re-register your burb with truck commercial plates you must already have commercial plates on your vehicle, if your existing plates are not, you can use cleared black car plates (3 letters 3 numbers) with a 67 tag.
