my 1962 chevy build thread
its a 62 long bed, 350/350 combo. Its my project, My father bouht this for me as my first truck in 2001, and ever since then, i have been doing small things here and there. When i got the truck, it had a 261 straight six, with a granny low 4-speed. it now has a very well powered 350 with headers and true dual exhaust, followed by 2 series 50 flowmasters.
when I first started working on it about 4 years ago... middle of last year... the next is how she looks now. New rims, body work done. ready to go have fun. My brother and I have done everything and we are very proud to say that all of the work on our trucks has been done by us. It really gives you that special feeling everytime you start it up and go for a ride. Last edited by clelandracing; 01-27-2011 at 04:00 AM. |

Re: my 1962 chevy build thread
Congratulations, you're off to a great start with the fresh engine. It looks nicely done.
I'd give anything to have something my Father gave me at a young age. There will come a time when it will seem time to sell it. I'd suggest you plan in advance for that and try to never sell it even if you have to mothball it for a period and go back to it at a later time in your life. |

Re: my 1962 chevy build thread
well its been a while since i have had a chance to be online and even longer since i have been able to work on the ol chevy. New twins can really kick your ass well here is a pic of a dash my brother and i built for my chevy. All new gauges and a sheet of aluminum from the local shop and this is the outcome. Hopefully i can get some more done on the truck this weekend, just put a new rear end in it, now i am getting all the brakes hooked up and going to pomona swap meet sunday looking for a cheap air compressor for the air ride.
