New, sorta?

I joined the site in 05, didn't really use it very much until recently. I figured i would take a second and introduce myself since i never really did so when i joined. I'm 22, I live in northern nevada (reno), and i bought my 1970 GMC when i was 16 from the original owner. Had a 383 stroker when i got it, unfortunately i was young and stupid and spun 2 rods and blew the motor. So i decided to build a new engine, then thought hell, might as well replace the transmission, and before i knew it i had half the truck taken apart. Fast forward 3 1/2 years, i'm almost done. So far the interior is entirely brand new (original seat), new transmission, i rebuilt/twin-sticked the transfer case (NP205), i rebuilt the front axle, had the driveshafts rebuilt, 4" tuff country ez-ride springs up front, ORD shackle flip with the 52" springs in the back, poly bushings all around, poly cab mounts, replaced all the heater vent lines, rebuilt the heater controller, also had to replace the heater/ac diverter box. I did some custom touches here and there too, my favorite is a clock from an 80 something chevy in the vac gauge location. I've had alot of help from my dad, and overall it's been a pretty fun project for both of us. Anyways thanks for reading, i'll post a few before/during/after(ish) pics of the truck.

Thanks Jerry, are you getting hit with any snow where you're at? I dunno how north you are in CA, but we have about half a foot over here from just today and it's supposed to snow all week. Thanks for the compliments Lara, are those 8 lug ansen sprints on your truck?? I really like your front bumper and the flatbed.

Looks great. See you have one of them ol' moon gas pedels. I had one on an old '57 back in the day. Welcome back.

I have no idea... what are 8 lug ansen sprints? Yes there are 8 lugs but we call those rims 5 slot jelly beans over here. The front bumper is called a bullbar in Australia and we call a flat bed a tray back. Bullbar and side rails are most handy for hunting pedestrians.

Ah over here they're slot mags. I've just never seen 8 lug ones. And the ones on your truck look like ansen sprints, it was a specific wheel they used to sell back in the day. I'll try to remember the rest of that stuff if i ever find myself in your neck of the woods.
