I finally found the time to finish my 383 stroker and here is a couple of pictures of it on my test and break in stand. I bought some 3" Thrush welded mufflers to use during the break in process and boy do they sound NICE! The gauges show the oil pressure after about five minutes of running time. I plan on putting it in my 68 C-20 in the spring.

Tell us about the motor - how you built it what components etc. Inquiring minds want to know. By the way, that is a really cool test setup you have.

I built this engine out of parts I have had for a while. It has a new scat crank, 400 Chevy rods with ARP bolts, dished 350 pistons and a new Pro Products balancer. It has a set of 1970 441 head castings that I updated to unleaded specs with 2.02 intakes and 1.60 exhaust valves. I did some smoothing and blending in the ports. I had the assembly Precisioned Balanced and the block is decked to zero. The cam is 214@.050 intake and exhaust. I bought a new Weiand Stealth intake for it. The distributor is an MSD Streetfire with MSD wires. I wanted an engine that made lots of torque, sounds cool, yet would get decent mileage and be super reliable! I will let you guys know in the spring how it drives once I install it.

Nice setup you got there for breaking in the engine ! How much HP/Torque do you estimate from it ? Are you going with a manual tranny ?
