I am a new member as of this weekend and a new owner of a 1964 6cly and 3 speed on the column. Could someone please tell me the easiest way to lower the truck, this is only going to be temporary until I know exactly which way I want to go with the 64.

Do a search on jeep springs for the rear and cutting the coils up front. You can check my truck out in the picture thread to see what it looks like.

Just don't I want to do with it, have to many frame off project's and just don't want more work like that,

Welcome to the forum.

I would say that the easiest way to lower your truck would be to just buy the lowering springs you want and install them. If money is an issue, then look at the Jeep springs for the rear and either lowering springs for the front or cut the stock ones.

Oh Also take a look at Jason65's truck. He cut the coil in the front and I believe used jeeps springs in the back. Give you an Idea of the stance. And with the Jeeps springs your not going to have the load rating since it's a softer spring.

What kind of springs as far as the jeeps go would you need to lower the truck in the rear? I have noticed that my Sons truck is a bit higher in the rear and would like to remody that. Thanks for any help

Just cut a coil and a half off of all the springs thats how mine is for now and its gonna be like that for a while.
Its my daily driver and need shocks and still not bouncy or a bad ride at all..
Could be lower but it looks cool to me for now.
New shocks coming soon though

From the rear of either a '93 and up Grand Cherokee or a '97-'06 TJ

Do you know how much it would lower the truck because it looks like its not going to take much to level out my sons truck.

I cut 1 1/2 coils off the front coils and put 70's Chevelle springs on the rear. Look in my signature and click on "my photo gallery" to see how it sits.
Both my trucks are flat black, but you'll know which one is lowered.

I'm pretty sure the Jeep springs will give you the same stance as the Chevelle springs.

Here is mine with coils cut up front and jeep springs in the rear... Dropped it considerably from stock...

I really like the way that truck sets. It really encloses the wheel wells and gets the tires looking like they fill the wheel well. Thanks for the info.

Here is mine. I used springs and spindles from CPP. All depends on what you got in mind for it I guess.
