Looks great, I have the same shifter in my 72. Does you Lokar lock when in drive gear? Mine locks while in neutral gear rather than drive which seems kinda odd. I'm hoping its just an adjustment.

No. I cant pick up the shortened driveshaft until Wednesday at the earliest. With that motor in the big block position and the fact its a 3/4 ton with the heavier driveshaft plus the fact I dont think 3/4 tons even came with th 350's there is no way I could find one the right length in the junkyard. I'll take the driveshaft down to the shop tomorrow and should be able to pick it up wednesday afternoon. $65 isnt too bad for a cut, weld and balance

I think thats the way its supposed to work. I spent a few hours playing with the adjustments and I think it supposed to lock in neutral going up although going from park down to drive it stops at drive. I'd hate to have to set one of those things up in a car with the transmission installed already. I pulled the hump out of mine during final assy so it wanst bad.

Interesting, I know that 4x4 3/4 tons came with 350's. I guess that the prediction must have been that 4x4's wouldn't see as hard of towing/hauling use as the 2wd's.

I'll be damned. I thought all 69-72 3/4 ton automatics came with TH 400's.

www.lokar.com

I dont think they make a manual shifter. They do make some nice street rod and custom automatic shifter stuff though.
