Re: back up

What shifter we talking about here?

My B&M Light Truck Mega shifter came with two switches pre-installed towards the base of the shifter.

One is the back up lights. The other is a neutral safety switch...

Re: back up

It have the neutral safety switch on the column or at least have a place for one. two pins on that switch are for the backup lights. You would still have to wire it up though.

Re: back up

Yes. If you don't already have one on the auto column you installed, a combination neutral safety and BU light switch is mounted on the column inside on the top near the firewall. There is a slot across the top of the column down there. A tang inside the column moves the switch when you move the gear selector. Switch mounts with a couple of little hex head metal screws. The big purple wire is for the neutral safety switch and it just runs to and out of the switch on its way to the starter(goes into the switch to one spade terminal and then back out on the terminal next to it to the starter. The backup light wires are, I believe, light green and dark green with each connecting to one of the two backup light terminals on the switch.
