6" Lift

I'm thinking about putting a 6" lift on my 03 2500HD 4x4. I have a few questions first...

First of all - brand. Which one is best? I've heard a lot of good things about Fabtech, but other than that, I'm not real sure where to look.

Second - How much worse will mpg be? Around 10? Less than that?

Third - How hard is a lift on a truck? Will it cause any issues with the truck that might not be a problem with stock ride height?

I'm sure the truck won't ride as well, but I don't really care about that. If I got the lift, I would want to run 17" wheels with around a 315 tire. What kind of wheel offset would I need so I don't rub too much?

Any other thoughts or advice are greatly appreciated.
