Re: IN-Dash stereo

I'm going to put one in my 72 soon..... I think that it will look good in these trucks. Will have to modify the dash abit, but I think its worth it. I have a Panasonic to use.... You would prolly want to get one that tilts out so you will be able to adjust it to your liking..... I'll post pictures asap!

Re: IN-Dash stereo

Putting a double din radio in our dash is going to take a lot of work to make it look right. Not that it can't be done, just that it won't be cutting a hole and inserting a radio. A regular radio takes a bit of work just because of he indentations. You would have to weld in a plate to smooth it out then cut or create the same indentation around the dd head unit. If it is done correctly I think it will look really good. Other wise I would get a flip out like the Eclipse AVX 5000.

Frostie- I like your set up! How much room do you have with those kick panels?

Re: IN-Dash stereo

I remeber he said that he changed over to a Toyota e-brake so it isn't in the kick panel anymore.

Re: IN-Dash stereo

console looks good, and so does that ashtray mod!

i would avoid cutting the dash to make room for a dd...if you plan on keeping the dd forever then its ok, but more than likely you will switch it out over time then have to modify again for the new one.
