I have the 64-66 itch

Been looking around my area, lots of good trucks. I really want a clean original paint truck that I can just build the chassis/drivetrain for and drive the wheels off of.

Here's a pic of one that a guy offered my today. It's a solid 41K original mile truck completely intact. He wants $3k which is more than I want to spend up front but this would be a very nice start and it has a perfect paint job:

Brother.... That is an excellent starting point! That sheet metal looks pretty straight & the patina looks just about perfect .

BTW.... There's only 1 cure for that itch. I know.

That meets this desire well...!!! That looks to be just what you are looking for. Sometimes finding one of these trucks cheap is a problem, but sometimes you run up on a deal... If I was in the market, and had the cash, I would pick it up... You can always "make an offer"...

Re: I have the 64-66 itch

NICE. Looks straight, I would take it.

You may think $3k is an expensive starting point but getting one that requires a lot of work to be dependable on the road adds up quickly. I wish my 66 would have looked like yours. I got it cheap, $500, it ran and stopped, but I am quickly beyond the $3k mark with fixing rust, rebuilding the original six banger, suspension upgrade, complete new wiring, etc., and it is still months away from hitting the road.

Well if my sportster sells, I'll go for it. I'm really curious though if those bullets were shot from outside where else did they go?

That would be a great starter for a project. What are your plans if you buy this truck?

I have the 63-66 itch this past fall with a '63 I located; it was a lot higher in price, and didn't have the cool factor. The green color is perfect!

Would definitely be interested in a truck like that.

Don't worry, my "itch" is for an original paint, steelies and wide whites on bags truck. Looks like I'm in good company.
