Any one use the F body ls1 pan on a truck engine? With the 5+ inch static drop the truck pan makes me nervous. Will the car pan clear the cross member with the engine in the "Fred" position. Thanks Jay

I have a 5" drop on my 86 up front, no issues with my 6.0/truck pan. But it's not my dd either.

It will depend on the motor mounts you are using. On my 82 Blazer we used S&P mounts and had no issues with clearance. The only concern was the a/c compressor in the stock location. We had to clearance the frame to make it work.

The control arms and bottom of the cross member are 3 inches off the road. I am not sure how much drop that is. Jay

ya, I forgot to mention...245/40/20 tire size...too lazy to do the math...

Many swaps over on performance trucks.net and ls1truck.com have been done with the f-body pan. No fitment issues that I have heard of.

How did I miss that one on the ol search. I can get a f body pan and the assorted pieces for 125. so I am gonna give it a try. Jay

It brings the oil level down to 5 quarts though. Looks like GM part I wonder what it is by application.

I used the LS to gen1 adapter plates and my stock 6.0 oil pan is about 1/2 inch below the crossmember. I dont see it causing any issues at all.

It sits pretty low with the short 17s on it

Your 20s probably are a bit taller. I am planning on new wheel but it will be a little later on as the budget allows. Jay

Mine sits about 2-1/2" below the cross member. Stock 06 truck pan, original 85 towers, clamshells and rubber mounts, 1/4" adapter plates.

Even better deal at www.gmpartsdirect.com. Go there and search part number 19212593. The one the pcmcobra posted is a factory GM kit for universal applications, and GM Parts Direct has it for $125.80.

DESCRIPTION: PAN KIT
P/N 19212593 was intended to be a universal oil pan the will fit most applications. Its a little more compact than a Corvette style pan. It fits all Gen III and IV engines and includes the oil pan, gasket, indicator tube and indicator, pickup tube and crankshaft oil deflector.
