Was reluctant to get started till I found this site!

My grandpa left me his '66 c10 about 10 years ago when he passed away. I used to mow his lawn 3 times a week just so I could drive it to the city dump to unload the grass clippings, its been sitting in my parents shed until this morning. We have a 3-4 day blizzard coming this weekend, so I figured it would be a great time to start on it. I have lots of questions for you guys, and want to thank you in advance for all your help, if I wouldnt have found this site it wouldve sat for another 10 years i bet. Going to tak some pictures tom. I hope I can get em up so you guys can see what I'm workin with. Its about midnight right now, and I just got her runnin!!!! New fuel line, took out the tank and cleaned it out, all new fluids, new batt, little bit of gas in the carb and she fired right up!!! (its even a 327)

to the forum. I know that you'll like it here. It's a great place with a bunch of great people. Sorry about your grandfather. Can't wait to see the pix of your truck.

Very nice, sounds like a good start. Just think how cool it is that you have something that you can tool around in that will remind you of your grandad.

Welcome aboard from Northern California!

Re: Was reluctant to get started till I found this site!

There's many things I like about this site, but one thing is that when ever I get side tracked, or lose ambition on my restoration, I can log on here and look at all the build threads, and mod's that all the other member's are doing to there rigs, and that gets me motivated. If it weren't for all the other member's and there great story's and usefull tips, then I probably would not have ever even started on mine. There is alot of knowledge floating around on this site, and it's cool to be part of a brotherhood of truck lovers... So good luck on your build, and let's see some pictures...!!

Welcome from the Northwest. For information and inspiration related to our trucks this is the best site on the web. Glad to hear you inherited your grandpa's truck. Nothing better than having family history with ownership.
