Re: Drove it home last night

I'll get some up here in an hour or so . Im at work and get off @5 .

The color is a Jaguar Burgandy with Gm Escalade mother of pearl White . Thinking about having a very subtle silver had pinstripe on the seam to break it up , but that will be down the road . Im actually working out a few bugs . The timing was @4* after top dead and the carb needed adjustment with a vacuum gauge .Just some little stuff . More pics coming .

Thanks for the compliments , means alot coming from my truck brothers . Been a long road .

What a beauty!! Better get used to that whole crowd thing.
That dark bed wood really compliments the color too.

The seats are from a 2 door , I believe Pontiac there is a tray area behind them for towels and detailer and such . I picked out the colors and materials and gave a basic design and kinda just had faith in the guy to do it . I think it came out good .

truly inspiring...
Thanks

Man i hate to sound like a broke record , but this was my grandfathers truck . He used it for his DD until about 58' . He had a Garage in Mtn. Home , AR and it was made into a wrecker (shop logos and all )and put to work after he got a newer truck . It served in active tow duty till about 65' and the A dframe was cut off it and drivers door removed and used as a farm implement at the ranch . I was about 7 or 8 and my uncle fired it up , set the hand throttle , stuck his leg in ad grabbed the clutch , stuck it in granny gear and let go of the clutch shouting " you better learn how to drive quick boy " I figured it out pretty quick . I bugged my dad and uncle about the truck til i was about 14 years old . Remember , driving that truck was a life changing experience for me and a memory of excitment i still think of today . My uncle called me and ask what i would give for the truck . I had $112.56 from mowing lawns . He said pay the gas and i could have it . I rebuilt the brakes and drove it a touch in High school and my dad was going to have it painted for me . The guy disassembled it and skipped town with the money . I had to go and pick up parts and pieces from here and there . I stored it in my dads garage , out of sight out of mind . 6 years ago he said come get it or im hauling it off . here it is now . I keep my uncle updated on the progress and would love to drive it back up there someday . Everybody in the family remembers the truck also as alot of my moms family drove it through the years . Sorry i got carried away and wrote a novel .

The chassis is a 72' for my 67' short step project . Did i mention i love old trucks ?
