Advise and Measurements Needed??

Just needed some advise and measurements on our cabs to verify that i have the front firewall, and pillars close before i weld them all together!!

What im working on is a 68 C10 LWB and working on the front firewall, upper pillars, and door pillars. or basically i have a front cab patch repair

Measuments i need!

upper hinge bolt hole, to the rear door panel?

lower hinge bolt hole, to the rear door panel?

and height and width of the front windshild pillars?

i know this is confusing but pictures are best to describe what i mean!!

your wondering why didnt you take measurments but i did!! just wanted to see what other measurment come up to be!!

also should i just butt weld the upper pillars or try to bend a backing plate to fit up in the pillar and weld it together

Thanks

Re: Advise and Measurements Needed??

Best advice i can tell you is to hang the doors you are going to use with good hinges. If you have help, maybe set the glass in the openings and make sure they are right with the gaskets. Tack weld a few areas before you go for it...

Re: Advise and Measurements Needed??

I can verify the windshield measurements from my 68 but I put an entire floor in so I can guarantee that my door opening is stock..

i'll get it in the morning for you.

Re: Advise and Measurements Needed?? (UPDATE!!)

Just wanted to show some progress on the cab

The welder im using is a Miller 180 with auto-start and works like a charm!! Just wish i had a tig also but I will get one soon

I got the window pillars aligned and tacked, removed the cab bracing and clamped the lower pillar close to the original position!!

Just need to find doors and hang them and align, a core support to hang the fenders, maybe install windsheild and gaskets, then test fit the hood also just to be shure it all aligns good.

Re: Advise and Measurements Needed??

It really depends on where you take that measuement from too, there are so many layers to the cab and no two cabs are the same.
