Well, reading previous posts about dash lights not working because of a grounding problem I took my dash out and am trying to get the lights to work. While it was out I have replaced the headlight switch because the riostat (spring) was messed up. I was curious if that would fix it but it didn't.

You all have said there is a ground to the dash or frame somewhere, but tracing back the wiring harness, I don't see one. Any help with what I should do from here would be appreciated.

The dash is grounded through the main connector where it plugs into the printed circuit board on the dash. The ground wire is black and you should be able to check it with an ohm meter. Is the fuse for the dash lights good?

Check the fuse for power, also. It gets its power when the light switch is pulled out.

thanks JimK. I got it lit up now. First time I have been able to see the dash at night since I got her.
