New to here
New to this site and here are some pictures of a 65 short stepside that I just got in central Oregon to replace the 55. The truck is fairly original and may have had a repaint on some parts. Appears to be rust free as the floors, rockers, cab corners and lower fenders show no signs of body work or rust. It has no options and a 230 with a 3 speed column shift. Interior is also clean with an original floor mat. In the glovebox was all the original registration renewals from day 1 along with owners manual, dealer warranty info and protect-o-plate. Mileage shows 64700 which looks to be right considering the condition of the truck and wear on the interior. Not sure at this time what my plans are as I would like a short fleetside.

and
Man what a B-E-A-UTIFUL truck! I am soooo jealous.... always been a green and white fan. As nice as that is perhaps less is more? Maybe a vintage intake and split manifold with a mild drop with some A/R TTO's ??? And a lot of sidewall for the rubber... none of the new millenium clown shoe stuff. |

I think you should keep it original.

Re: New to here
Beautiful truck, it's refreshing to see one so stock. With a complete truck in such good condition you can set just about any kind of plan you prefer. On the other hand they're only original once, and yours is a very nice example.

Re: New to here
Nope, mine's stock height - just about the same as yours. Interestingly, my truck had an almost identical rear bumper when I first got it.

Re: New to here
The bumper is on my list of things to do and looking for one with brackets. Headed to the Puyallup swap meet on the 6th so hope to pick one up there. Also have a set of split manifolds from Langdons and a pair of Smithy`s to install. I ran the same combo on my 55 and really wakes the motor up plus without a radio, gives me something to listen to.

Re: New to here
It's interesting - being at a rod run full of V8's with cams or blowers, a 6 cylinder with split pipes never fails to draw a crowd. The sound is unmistakable.

Re: New to here
Here is a youtube video of the 55 with Fenton split manifolds, Smithy`s and dual Carter W1`s on a Fenton intake. Not sure if I will run the dual carbs this time around as I never noticed any performance increase but sure looked good.

Re: New to here
After a month of waiting for Oregon DMV to issue the title, I brought it across the border last week. As an added bonus, when I pulled the tank to clean out the rust, I found both build sheets behind/under the seat.
