Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
I'm 99.999% sure the factory never made a chrome valve cover, however I've seen chromed aftermarket covers.

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
I've never seen an original chrome cover that came from the factory either.
We do tend to forget that there were a lot of hotrodders in the 50's and 60's that liked to chrome everything they could. Especially since there weren't a lot of aftermarket vendors in those days and chroming was cheap and not as regulated as it is today. I'd buy it if the price was reasonable. |

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
The 62-63 nova ss had a chrome valve cover on it. They didn't come with small blocks those years, and if i remember , they also had a chrome air cleaner lid too.

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
I'm 100% positive my neighbor had a chrome I6 scripted valve cover. He was a cheap guy, bought and sold junk forever, he would never have had one chromed. That being said, someone else could have had it chromed at some point and my friend just happened upon it. Thinking long and hard, I don't know for sure if I've ever seen another chromed one. Anyone else have any input on this?

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
I'm pretty sure mine is factory, but I could be wrong. Both of my six cylinders have them. The Biscayne with a 230 came in Chevrolet orange though.

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
Some Novas in 62-63 and all 64s with a 230 CID engine came from the factory with a Chrome Valve Cover and Air Cleaner Lid as stated by Lifelock

Re: 6 cyl Chevrolet Chrome Valve Cover ?(rare)
Sorry no pic's, I do plan on going back to the yard and getting it but not to soon. The yard is only open 10am-2pm Sat and a somewhat far ride , so it's hard to get the timing right not to mention the strick rules they have. Five dollor charge to get in ,no tool bag in the yard and when you find the part all while being follow by and empoly you have the choice, them at a charge of corse or yourself free to remove the part. Your followed back to get your tool bag follow back to the part and watched for every part you take and charge for every nut bolt and thing you need at a bit more then you would think . So maybe I mite not be in a big hurry after all to go back.
