Re: Hydraulic Clutch in 67-72 chevy truck????

Why?I hate hydraulic clutches. Is there a problem with the original linkage?Didn`t think so.I`ve never had a problem.I`ve had plenty of problems from hydraulic, though.I was looking for a way to change it to good old fool proof linkage. They always put the slave cylinder on the passenger side.

Yes I did one for a customer in a 70. He was running a 5 speed and we used a Wilwood master hooked to the stock pedal. I had to drill a hole higher than the stock one in the pedal arm to get the correct pedal ratio, but it worked great.

A couple of people on the board have done it. I have never had one so can't comment on the good/bad ratio...

If you type - hydraulic clutch - into the Google Search box above and tick the 67-72chevytrucks.com circle you will get lots of info on it.

I just realized there's a ton of info on the search. Seeing as you've already done one, however, can I contact you if I have any problems? BTW the reason for it is a t56.

Thanks!
Dan

Sure, not a problem. I just put a T56 in a 67 Camaro with hyd clutch and fabbed a custom mount for the master cyl.
Is it ok to post my email address?

Re: Hydraulic Clutch in 67-72 chevy truck????

I'm going to be doing one on my Longhorn as well and will post up how it goes once it is in. I don't see what people's problem with hydraulic clutches are? Once they are bled they are nice to operate and easier to operate. Trust me, any of you have any trucks with 4200# pressure plate loads? Push that with the stock type pedal set up.

I think I might go to a hydraulic throwout bearing system
