Fleetside floors, Steel vs Wood

Can someone explain the major differences between the wood floor and steel floor fleetsides? I'm considering taking out the steel pan and replacing it with wood. Anyone tried or done it? Can it be done?

Yes it can be done. There are a few copanys selling complete kits.It depends what you would like to do.You can get polished stainless strips for show trucks. The wood floor beds have diffrent sills.
